Menu for the Week of November 4, 2013 — Holiday Hours and What We’re Thankful For!

Hey Everyone,

I know it probably seems like we’re being a little redundant with our posts recently by continuously encouraging everyone to get their holiday orders in early, but we know it takes a couple times to catch everyone’s attention.  So, in addition to reminding you, yet again, to get those orders in early by calling the shop or using our pre-order function on the website, here’s another very important reminder that the reason for doing so is that we will be CLOSED on Thanksgiving (11/28) WHAHHHT? and the day after (Friday, 11/29) WAIT WHAT? to spend time with family and friends and give our employees a much-needed break before the mad dash through December.

Of course, now that November is upon us, our thoughts always go back to where we were just two Novembers ago in 2011 — opening our very first bricks and mortar location in Kirkwood.  Time has absolutely flown by, and we can’t believe we’re celebrating our 2nd year anniversary.  Opening a new business is no small feat.  Opening a food business in the height of a recession certainly adds an element of danger to it.  And well, doing it with your spouse probably ranks up there with certifiable!  But, we’ve made it through another year, happy, healthy, and trending upwards.  So, this year, as we reflect on where we’ve been and the exciting changes ahead, we are thankful for each other (Team Ouzts!), our employees, our families and friends, our supportive Kirkwood and surrounding neighborhoods, and of course our farmers and ranchers who provide us with the most amazing raw ingredients each week.

It is rare these days that people are fortunate enough to do what they love every day for a living, so we feel a special obligation to live the American Dream every day to the fullest.  Even on the days when we ask what the hell have we gotten ourselves into, we couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunities that we have been fortunate enough to receive.
