Menu for the Week of May 25, 2015 — Announcing Our First Wine & Cheese Pairing Class!

First things first — we hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, and if you’re ready for another weekend of fun, please consider joining us at the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival this weekend! On Thursday at 3:30, we’ll be part of a panel of food entrepreneurs, discussing craft products, scalability, and branding.  On Friday, Kevin will be part of the Porsche dinner, and on Saturday, he’ll be teaching a class — “The Art of Pairing Sweet and Savory” — with Sommelier Julie Dalton.  Tasting tents are always a blast, and the restaurant should be a really fun scene this weekend as we celebrate with industry folks, friends and family!

Looking ahead a bit, we are thrilled to announce our first ever Spotted Trotter Cheese & Wine Pairing Class! We hope to make this a monthly staple depending on turnout, but here are the vitals for this first class — June 22 at 7 p.m. at our Krog location.  Titled, “Can We Get Your Goat?”

Do you love goat’s milk cheeses but don’t think you know what’s out there? Then this is an evening for you. Come learn your fresh chevre from your crottin. Think all goat cheeses are soft and in a tube, or don’t think you like goat cheeses?  Then an even bigger reason to come.  There are as many varieties of the fromage du chevre as there are cow’s milk cheeses.  Our cheesemonger Scott Stroud is going to put some amazing cheeses in front of you, both domestic and imported, and The Cockentrice’s GM Clayton Morey will pair them up with some equally tasty wines.  These cheeses and wines will be perfect leading into the summer months. They’re all fresh, crisp and light enough to not weigh you down.
