Menu for the Week of July 9, 2012 — Beat the Summer Slowdown!

Hey Atlanta, want to know a little secret?  NOW’S THE TIME!

To explain, for as long as we can remember, and after experiencing it both as diners and from inside the kitchen, we know that July always means a tremendous decline in restaurant traffic.   Attribute it to the vacationers, the kids getting out of school, the frenzy to leave the city, or maybe it’s just too hot to leave the house and go to a restaurant to eat?  We don’t know, but it has to stop!

If you can convince yourselves and others to break out your personal spritzers and some loose-waisted pants,  we are here to tell you this is the prime time to stroll into a lot of our city’s fine establishments and have one of the best meals of your life.  Right now, you can enjoy some of the most robust selections of local fruits and vegetables, Atlanta’s chefs have some of the finest culinary skills in the country, and you will have very little competition to get the undivided attention from the chefs, servers, bartenders, and managers that you deserve….

So, go ahead Atlanta, eat your hearts out!   But, of course, in the event that you want to create your own little meal of a lifetime, come in to The Spotted Trotter!  We have some great selections right now also using fresh, local produce (check out the spiced blackberry and peach jam and the three terrines this week!), we’ll give you our undivided attention, and, well, we have a pretty awesome air conditioning unit, too!

Stay Hungry Atlanta!

  1. Since we sell raw milk on the farm, we have a large following for nutrient dense foods. One of the items we have a hard time finding is grass fed cold cuts and bacon. I also host birthday parties and offer a hot dog plate, and have been looking for a grass fed hot dog source. Could you possibly provide me with a quick price list. I would do a group purchase, and wanted to know what is the best way to do this.

    Thank you,
