Menu for the Week of January 7, 2013 — Happy New Year!

This is our first post of 2013, so let us officially say Happy New Year to you and yours!  We are finally starting to recover from the last couple weeks of 2012, which ended with a flurry of activity for us — we filled orders galore for Christmas dinners and New Years parties, solidified a contract to cater a week-long Masters event in the Spring, dealt with an unfortunate but very minimal break-in at the retail shop, and closed out the 2012 farmers market season.  What a year!

The new year is traditionally slower for the food industry, as people *pretend* to go on diets after the holidays, but we say diets be damned!  The winter season is a wonderful time for creamy cheeses, among other things, as cows and sheep produce milks with higher fat contents, so we’ll be stocking those as much as we can before they run out.  Unfortunately, this particular cheese season is short before the increased production that comes with Spring, which means the Southeast likely won’t be able to sustain your appetites.  To counteract this void, we’ll be bringing in more foreign cheeses during the next couple months.

Think about these cheeses and our wonderful salamis for your Super Bowl parties, which are right around the corner.  You know time is always of the essence on any big orders, so it’s never too late to get your Super Bowl orders in now — hopefully the Falcons will be Rising Up in a couple weeks at the big game!

And finally, moving from Rising Up to Paying Up, please help us decrease our costs in 2013 by paying for your purchases with debit, cash, or checks in the retail shop.  We are no longer accepting credit cards in 2013.
