Greetings and Good Meats!

We have been behind on our duties and our email log book was getting a bit back logged so Megan was kind enough to get our email list all caught up. Thanks Megan! So for those of you receiving this email blast for the first time, WELCOME! We are glad you are here! Because we procure our meats fresh each week and produce every item fresh, the sole purpose of this email blast, for those that don’t know is to provide you with our finest menu each and every week.  Sometimes there is the additional rant or vent by yours truly, but for the most part we do our best to provide you with the information that is most important to your daily lives…..GOOD MEATS!! So here we go.

In addition to this weeks menu I would like everyone to know that Tuesday the 26th we will be participating in a fundraiser for someone who was very near and dear to the Atlanta Culinary world. Her name is Charlotte Nelson. “She worked with many of Atlanta’s chefs at restaurants including Atmosphere, Taurus and Canoe and collaborated with Gary Mennie to help open Livingston Restaurant. She joined Fox Bros. in 2009, and became head chef in late 2011.”  ( Charlotte was diagnosed with stage four inflammatory breast cancer in 2012. As some of you already know, Charlotte lost her battle early Saturday evening. She was only 37. “We all loved and cared about her so very much. When Charlotte was first diagnosed the week after Thanksgiving, the initial talk was about this benefit going towards cancer research and that is exactly what we want to do now. We are partnering with an excellent research charity called the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. BCRF has the lowest overhead of any breast cancer charity we have found and uses 91 cents of every dollar collected toward pure research in finding the cure for this terrible disease. We hope to see you there!

The menu this week will feature some new and delicious terrine work as well as some delicious new fresh sausages. We will also be starting our first batch of the South African Dried sausages that we commonly get requests for. It is called Boerewors and we will have our first batch finished in about three weeks, so please come check it out. We would like to also thank Georgia Organics this week for what turned out to be another wonderful conference. Way to Go GO!!
